We're raising Apollo the African Grey Parrot to be the most English-capable non-human yet, after Alex 1976-2007 raised by Dr. Pepperberg. Alex demonstrated understanding of numbers, shape, color, material, label, rudimentary +/- and even zero/none in his final years. These pioneering figures only scratched the surface of the species' capabilities, given the conditions they were subjected to in the early decades. We use the model/rival technique while raising Apollo intuitively in a stable home environment. In six years Apollo has already begun climbing the same cognitive ladder -- with much improved pronunciations resulting from the leisurely pace afforded by merit of environmental stability.

We consider this a platform for discourse on non-Human/animal intelligence, cognition, communication, and all related.
